Frequently Asked Questions.
Do I need to write my own copy?
You can, but you don’t have to. I’ll send you a form that asks a bunch of questions about you, your vibe, your business. It will give you the option to lay out exactly what you want each page to say or just to brain dump the general info and ideas you want captured and then I’ll do the copywriting. I don’t charge extra if I do the copy.
Do I need to provide images?
Just like with copy, you can, but you don’t have to. If you do, you will want to ensure that they are professional quality and formatted for web use so that your site doesn’t look unprofessional or take forever to load. If you don’t, I’ll use stock imagery. In general, stock imagery looks just as good as custom and I have a knack for finding stuff that feels like yours, so don’t stress about this. Typically the one photo I will require is a photo of YOU. We can work through this together if that’s a tough ask.
How long does it take?
We are going to chat and make sure it’s a good fit and then decide on a start day. I like to be totally done with a project within 14 days of the assigned start day, and it is up to you to get your information and feedback to me in a timely manner to get this done. Look, this isn’t my main source of income, if you screw around I’m just going to refund your money and go on with my life, so this is all up to you.
How do I pay?
You will pay 50% up front (I’ll send you a Stripe invoice, credit cards are fine) and 50% before I release the site to you.
Where does my domain come from?
Ideally you purchase your domain from Squarespace or GoDaddy. If you get it someplace else you may be required to attach it yourself, but those two are the easiest for me to help with. It’s not rocket science, we will get through it together.
I’ve heard about you & thought you were a business strategist?
It’s true! My professional life revolves around business strategy, mental health & Human Design over at my company Rêv. Basically I’m obsessed with supporting people to take their lives back from capitalism, and work is usually a huge barrier to that. But not everybody can afford to work with me as a consultant but I want to help because we need to save small businesses. Something all my clients, even the fanciest ones, share is the need for a slick website and over the years I’ve just started building with and for my clients rather than hiring that out, because this keeps the vision pure. It’s a passion project to bring that same energy to as many people as I can, and that’s what this is all about!
Do you do SEO optimization?
Definitely not. But I know someone who rocks at this and I’d love to introduce you! She’s affordable, chill, and will do a great job.
